First-year college student 'Hailey' (who prefers to be called Jayanni), is enamored with Tarik, the charismatic leader of the campus social activism movement. Hailey/Jayanni agrees to attend a campus protest rally with Tarik, which results in her arrest.  Although her grandfather suspects that the circumstances surrounding Jayanni's arrest are suspicious, no one could have foreseen the powerful forces that have conspired against her.
